On the train portion of yesterday’s commute home, I finished book #52 for the year; a collection of Margaret Atwood’s selected poems(1966-1974). Her poetry is layered and cryptic with recurring images and dark themes. Browsing thru the ongoing booksale at Charlotte’s main library yesterday I picked another book of poetry, this one by Eve Merriam titled ‘Embracing the Dark’. My to-be-read stack has nearly two dozen books. The goal this year, as it has been before, is a book a week and a little surprised I’ve managed twice that so far.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
