like wow, farm out!

Teaser headline on front of yesterday’s paper for article within-

“Herb-loving student turns passion into business”

Hey, that’s exactly the way I remember it back in college, grow your own for personal use and occasionally sell the leftovers.(which wasn’t very often now that I think about it) We weren’t in it for the profit; just a bunch of laid back, long-haired, post-hippie engineering students trying out our green thumbs. Our specialty was “cat gold” only because our house cats like to hang out in the walk-in closets lined with aluminum foil and six-foot grow lamps. A lot of cat hair would get mixed in with the foliage.

But times have changed. The article was about an enterprising high school age teen selling rosemary, basil, etc. at various local farmer markets.

One of my all-time favorite cartoons contains this-
“The Marijuana Institute and the League of Horrid Punsters are holding a joint press conference.” – from “Shoe” by Jeff MacNelly

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
