I’m beginning to understand the real problem

We’ve all heard some debate concerning the “Government’s” possible involvement in bailing out or rescuing people who are in financial trouble because of their home loans.

Some understanding of why some people think this is a good idea occurred when I read about one nearby local school systems providing free lunches for any student who “forgot” to bring either something to eat or the money to pay for food. Originally set-up to help underprivileged kids whose families couldn’t afford lunch, all any student has to do now is say “I forgot” and they are given something to eat. No questions asked.

This policy is the subject of much debate in the community. However, it doesn’t end there…

Seems that the concerned parents of these kids are upset because their hungry forgetful offspring are not given the same full meal purchased by students with good memories. Instead they are given a sandwich and milk. Apparently being recognized in the school lunch room based on the free food they are eating is bad for their self esteem and disgraceful.

Something about I.Q. levels and reproduction comes to mind.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
