keeping the brain engaged

The year got off to a slow start but has recovered nicely. (I blame my new job for for removing 3 hours each workday most of which I could have spent reading)

(List of books read in 2007)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

Impressive list! How was the Lester bangs book?

Good but somewhat overpowering. It was my first exposure to his writing (though I have read ABOUT him for years) so to get all of his opinions, criticisms and observation in a concentrated form requires that I go back and sort it out more. I especially liked the interview with Jimi Hendrix (deceased) making observations on his post-death career.
