Money doesn’t have to talk when it has the ability to vote

*Edit 2007/04/13*
(No comments even with the mangled grammar – why do you let me get away with it?)

When did “show me the money!” (no, I’ve not seen the movie but word gets around) turn into the most important phrase in the electoral political process? Every time elections come around the Charlotte Observer(and I’m sure every other newspaper tabloid) runs some big, fat article about who is leading the pack in terms of building up their campaign finances. What does the amount of money a candidate gathers have to do with the validity of their message? Do the people who write this stuff (and their editors) think one has anything to do with the other? Do they think we are that stupid gullible?

Wait. Don’t answer that.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
