Indecision 2006

In response to some of my recent posts mentalageof_4 recommended I read a novel by Janet Tashjian titled ‘The Gospel According To Larry’. This led me to discover Tashjian wrote a sequel, ‘Vote for Larry’ which I finished reading this morning(Election Day). Timing is everything but I wish I’d read them sooner.(better late than never?) Both ‘Larry’ books put into words much of what I feel about two subjects; consumerism and politics. All I can say is I recommend the ‘Larry’ books to anyone. Taking a few days vacation to help our next litter of pups into the world (we had three Sunday) I’m now sitting and thinking about what is happening less than two miles from here at my local voting precinct(and across the country). I know this might sound like an out of control metaphor but reading ‘Vote for Larry’ in a vacuum has only strengthened the vapor-locked attitude I have toward politics created by my cynicism.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
