A recent email from someone I’ve known since high school detailed his upcoming new job and relocation. In the email he referenced faith/prayer/Christ/God a total of eight times. Thinking about what I would mention if sending a similar notice, I could only come up with “selling my soul to the Satan of business” and the proximity of any Starbucks to where I worked.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

  1. Everyone has their vantage point, eh? Sounds like something my one brother and sister-in-law would send. I like her well enough, but I’m not too crazy about my one brother. That’s because for her it seems real; for him, it was the path of least resistance.
