breaking news on sex coming to Waldo, FL

Just found this on the WJXT(Jacksonville, FL TV station) news feed on my Yahoo page. I’ve seen the billboards for various Cafe Erotica’s up and down southern Interstates. Didn’t realize the man trying to bring “sex” to little ol’ Waldo, FL was responsible for a larger operation-

A well-known and controversial businessman who owned Cafe Erotica in St. Johns County (St. Augustine) and was attempting to open an adult bookstore in Waldo died suddenly Sunday. 47-year-old Jerry Sullivan was found dead Sunday morning by his 14-year-old son. The Alachua County (Gainesville) Sheriff’s Office…said it does not suspect foul play. On Monday, Sullivan was scheduled to meet with the Alachua County attorney to mediate a lawsuit filed against the county over zoning for the Waldo business.

“The world is a less interesting place with Jerry gone, but he was also a good businessman and a good family man,” said Sullivan’s attorney, Gary Edinger. “He’s made arrangements so his various business interests will go forward as they always have.”

Sullivan also owned similar businesses in Georgia and North Carolina. Sullivan would have turned 48 this Friday.

(does over-exposure to sex cause premature death? I guess not since Hugh Hefner is still alive)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

  1. He wasn’t necessarily getting it- just selling it.

I wasn’t thinking “getting it” either. Just working in the industry as it were. Now Hugh probably does “get it” more than most men his age if you believe all the tabloid stories about his love of Viagra. I don’t envy him though. Assume that some (most) of the women he has are attracted to him, I doubt it is much more than his prestige or power that draws them. All the shallow reasons.
