Loading one ‘Cowboy Junkies’ CD after another into my PC to play as background music during my work day. Arriving email from a past boss with news about former co-worker who passed away recently. Funny how we deal with death or in many cases DON’T deal with it. (though it will have its way with all of us eventually) This guy I knew was somewhat of a character (one of those “I just love ya man! personalities and I am more reserved) I cringed sometimes when he approached but we did get along professionally. He was overweight and a heavy smoker suffering from congestive heart failure. What made me pause to ponder things was his age, just one year older than me.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

  1. It kinda makes you wonder if you should eat a box of grape-nuts or just go for the gusto while you can and have a pound of bacon.

That’s very sad news….I’m sorry to hear it, and I hope you’re doing alright under the circumstances.
