Without trying I finally came across someone who signed up for the “sponsored” level of LJ journal containing advertisements and saw an ad for ‘Nick Drake Ringtones’. NICK DRAKE RINGTONES!? Some things should be outlawed or at least people should have the good sense to just say NO! STOP THE MADNESS! If you want more than that, well, just nudge me.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

from wikipedia – Nicholas Rodney Drake (June 19, 1948 – November 25, 1974) was a British singer/songwriter. Drake is known for his gentle, autumnal songs and his virtuoso right hand finger picking technique. Although he recorded only three albums, critics and fellow musicians held his work in very high esteem. Drake failed to find a wide audience during his lifetime, though, which fed his severe clinical depression. Since his death, Drake’s music has gained a significant cult following.
(his song “Pink Moon” was featured during that VW TV commercial where friends are riding arount at night with the convertible top down. generally his stuff is down beat with being overly depressing – in my opinion his songs do not lend themselves for use as ringtones. the whole idea is crass marketing taken to a new low)
