When I see someone “acting out” in a way I never would and find myself wishing they would tone it down a little because no one is buying their drama or bullshit, I have to remind myself that if everyone were like me (quiet and introverted) the world would be a very boring place.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

and there wouldn’t be a show called “Cops” either

  2. Well, I think we could definitely do with a little less acting out and a little more quietness in this world.
Reality TV seems to encourage and reward nonsense and foolishness, I’m afraid. They all want their 15 minutes of fame, no matter how self-degrading they need to be to get it.
Nanny 911…who in their right mind would want to show the world just how completely out of control their children are? I’m all for getting help when you need it, but not on national freakin’ TV.
Trading Spouses, Jerry Springer…where do they find these people? All I know of these types of shows is what I see on the commercials; I’ve never actually watched one.
