Got up this morning somewhat earlier than my normal weekend routine. Caught a glance of myself in the bathroom mirror and realized I looked like a reject from a “My Name Is Earl” casting call. This actually put a smile(more like a Jason Lee smirk) on my face because I enjoy watching ‘Earl’ and there was a time in my life when my wardrobe consisted basically of everything Earl wears. (who am I kidding? I still wear most of that stuff) Went out shopping later and bought my very first Gram Parsons/Flying Burrito Brothers album. (used in pretty good condition for just $1.00)

Now, between ‘Earl’ and Gram (even though the Burritos do a real honky-tonkified cover version of “Honky-Tonk Women”), my day has been pretty “trailer park”.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

I must admit that Earl makes me laugh… sometimes in that slightly nervous, “oh yeah, I remember dating that guy briefly” kind of way… but laugh nonetheless.

I hate that ‘Earl’ and ‘House’ air at the same time. Thankfully, NBC has rerun many of the Earl episodes (sometimes as back-to-back twofers) so that I am able to keep up.
