I really AM a Wikillectual

As a fan of Harlan Ellison I’ve read most of what he’s written over the decades though sometimes I am slow to pick up on his references. One essay he wrote was titled “Face-Down in Gloria Swanson’s Swimming Pool” about his love of all things related to Los Angeles. But it wasn’t until today’s featured article at Wikipedia about the movie “Sunset Boulevard” that I really got the connection. (Harlan Ellison is/was a Hollywood screenwriter like the character played by William Holden in the movie)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
