I now blame it on pheromones. At least that’s my new theory to explain certain things. Not the variety usually associated with causing attraction between organisms but a somewhat different version. A type of pheromone that causes someone to go unnoticed or be made to seem invisible like they aren’t really there. A biological cloaking device that fools the observer to go on with whatever they were doing and never notice the person giving off this particular pheromone. This would explain many things.

When did choosing and applying to colleges become a competitive activity? Based on my experience it was as simple as making decent grades in high school then filling out the application(s). About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
