daily dharma (‘some of the dharma’ pages 22-25)

The six senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and thought) are actually deceptions, disturbances, contaminations, defilements and irritations to the tranquility of the mind.

Cooking your own tasteless food will destroy your carving for tasty food.(? – backward or convoluted to me)

“Don’t listen to anything because you’re listening all the time anyway” Now THIS makes sense to me. Seems like an argument for enjoying music which fits into the background such as “ambient”. Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, etc.

“Don’t see or think for the same reason” (So I shouldn’t think about the meaning of that statement?)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
