I bet William laughs all the way to the bank

As the passenger during last week’s two day business trip to Richmond and Newport News, I was exposed to large amounts of C&W music as preferred by my co-worker who was driving. Admittedly my tastes in that area are very out of date. (I prefer Willie, Waylon, Jerry Jeff Walker, Chet Atkins and maybe some Patsy Cline) Knowing I had little appreciation for his preferences, I was given the opportunity to hear two CDs that under normal circumstances I doubt I would ever choose to hear on my own. The first was the ‘Right To Bare Arms’ comedy CD by Larry the Cable Guy(Git-R-Done!) and the second was the collection of (ahem) songs performed by William Hung of American Idol infamy.

I still find it hard to believe but I was actually more offended by William Hung’s lack of talent than by Larry the Cable Guy’s somewhat course humor.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
