Sunday afternoon and guess what I’m NOT doing?

“They” love to sit around and discuss which technology, in this case television equipment & broadcast methods, is better in terms of features, quality and durability, but “they” only seem to watch one type of programming. Sports. Trying to engage “them” in conversation about any TV broadcast I’ve viewed recently containing what I consider some degree of intellectual depth usually brings no response.

Since “they” are the type who stop their meal while in a restaurant to read the latest sports news headlines just received via their cellular phone text messenger, making sure to share with everyone seated around the table, should I really be surprised?

(Do I dare ask if they’ve read any good books lately?)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
