I recall an F. Scott Fitzgerald quote about the rich

In the issue of Rolling Stone I mentioned in an earlier post arriving today, I came across a photo that warrants entry into a “submit your caption” contest. Initially thinking I was seeing Billy Idol photographed from the rear because of the bleached, close-cropped hair and the intensity of what he was doing, it turns out to be Brigitte Nielsen! Remember her? Ex-Mrs. Sylvester Stallone? Dated NY Jet Mark Gastineau? (which facilitated the only time I was in a bar where someone was yelling “slut” at a woman, rather loudly – OK, it was during Monday Night Football and one of my co-workers was trying to warn Mark G., by yelling at the TV(?), when they announced Brigitte & Mark as an item because they thought her breaking up with Mr. Stallone was ill advised or cheapened her reputation)

Anyway, back to the photo. Two other people are shown. Anna Nicole Smith (anorexia – compared to how huge she was the last time I saw her on some “reality” cable TV show – seems to be working for her) and Flavor Flav (think MTV video with character wearing large clock around his neck, which he also does in this photo but it looks like it came off a school classroom wall). Anna Nicole has her arm around Flav and Brigitte is in the process of gawking at and groping Ms. Smith’s breasts. Flav’s s**t-eating grin leads me to think that between the size of Anna’s breasts and Brigitte’s hands (neither are “petite” women) he is oblivious to any physical danger he might be in should this episode get out of hand. (so to speak)

Rolling Stone’s caption read – “There will never be a reasonable explanation for this. Never.” Maybe I shouldn’t have let my subscription run out. Naah.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
