ten down eight to go…

Going thru my jazz collection today making my listening selections I decided on Thelonious Monk. I know that my affection for jazz during the past few years has resulted in my listening while working, driving, reading, etc., but when did it become a compulsive obsession causing me to buy 18 different Monk CDs?! When did I become a jazz music completist?

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

Well if you like Pink Floyd you will love the group “Porn(The Men of)”. They did a great cover version of “One Of These Days” on their album- “Experiments in Feedback”. (they also do Motorhead covers in addition to original material)

haha…i’m not really a pink floyd fan. never did enough drugs to “get it”…at least that’s my reasoning. i just grabbed a name out of thin air…something far, far removed from your jazz guy! (in other words, it was a joke that fell short of its mark)…

For me the music WAS (is) the drug.

i *certainly* can’t argue that…i just like different drugs. and i’m definitely addicted. music is the soundtrack to life…i can’t imagine how people do without it.
