how I now remember Thanksgiving

One year ago this week, the day my “20 year career” ended just in time for Thanksgiving and (when I eventually went back to work three months later) it became just a “job”. Not that I don’t have much to be thankful for, but idealistic dreams die hard.

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.

One year ago this week, the day my “20 year career” I’ve almost ended my career this year…at least with the state. Did you go back to the same job?

It was the “manufacturer” that laid me off and I went to work for one of their business partners/distributors. Same line of work supporting the same product line, just a different company name on the business card.
