why go bird-watching when people are more interesting?

Stopped at a turn-lane traffic light in Lincolnton, NC earlier today when I heard someone talking (yelling?) in a loud voice-

“someone drank alcohol in a bar last night
someone committed adultery with a whore last night
do these things make god mad?
yes, god gets mad….”
(the light changes and I drive on)

As I make the turn onto US route 321 I look over my shoulder and see a man wearing white shirt and white pants, carrying a poster, gesturing at the passing traffic. The question I ask myself – “is he confessing his own actions or randomly trying to make someone feel guilty?”

Given enough time and a convenient place to park I would have loved to watch the show. Haven’t seen preaching of that type since evangelists would park their trucks in a Charlotte area Wal-Mart parking lot, hop into the truck bed and commence their rant. (as loud as they could yell)

About Marcus

Who me? Introverted, neurotic, self-absorbed, increasingly cynical observer of human nature and part time social critic in hiding. Most of my life spent avoiding growing up. The naive idealistic passions of youth have evolved into the eclectic eccentricities of adulthood. Northeast Florida small-town native, related to people I can't relate to. Simultaneously my own best friend and worst enemy. Politically and spiritually unaffiliated, my personal ideologies put me all over the map or off it completely.
